Privacy policy
Last updated 18 October 2026
This policy explains what yorunoyume.com (“Yoru no Yume”, “we”) collects, why, and who else handles it. In short: we keep your email address and a record of what you bought, so that you can download your books again. There are no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies.
Questions and requests about your information go to support@yorunoyume.com.
What we collect
- Your email address. Stripe Checkout passes it to us when you buy a book, or you type it into the sign-in form on the Your books page.
- Purchase records: which book you bought, the amount and currency, the date, the Stripe checkout session and payment IDs, and whether the purchase was refunded.
- A sign-in cookie, described under Cookies.
- Records of sign-in emails requested, so that we can limit how many are sent.
- Emails you send us at requests@yorunoyume.com or support@yorunoyume.com. These are stored on our own mail server.
- Request logs kept by Cloudflare, our host, which include your IP address and your browser’s user agent.
We use this information to sell you books, send you sign-in links, let you download what you’ve bought, handle refunds, answer your emails, and keep the records we need for accounting and tax.
Cookies
We set one cookie, and only when you sign in, either after paying or by following a sign-in link. It is strictly necessary: it is how the site knows which books you can download. It holds a signed reference to your email address, is marked HttpOnly so that scripts on the page can’t read it, and lasts one year. If you delete it, you can ask for a new sign-in link at any time.
There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The site’s fonts are served from yorunoyume.com itself, so loading a page doesn’t contact Google or any other font service.
Who else handles your information
- Stripe processes payments. Stripe Checkout collects your card details and email address; we never see your card details.
- Cloudflare hosts the site, stores the book files, and keeps logs of requests, including IP addresses and user agents.
- Amazon Web Services sends our emails, such as sign-in links, through its Simple Email Service in Canada (the ca-central-1 region).
How long we keep it
We keep purchase records, and the email address they belong to, for as long as they’re needed to let you download your books again and for accounting and tax. The sign-in cookie lasts one year.
Getting a copy, or having it deleted
To get a copy of the information we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email support@yorunoyume.com. We may need to keep transaction records that the law requires us to keep. Once your purchase records are deleted, you won’t be able to sign in and download those books again.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and some of the books contain mature themes.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
